World #2 health-policy think tank

If you will excuse us, we are having a little bit of a celebration here at CCHSR this week. Rather out of the blue, we have been named as second in a world ranking of Health Policy Think Tanks, as constructed by the University of Pennsylvania. The report – “Global Go-To Think Tanks” – was launched at the World Bank headquarters in Washington DC and at the United Nations University in New York on 17th January. And there we are – number two in their list of “Top Thirty Health Policy Think Tanks”, just under the Bloomberg School of Public Health Research Centers. The process (across all categories of think tanks) involved an international survey of over 1,950 academics, public and private donors, policy makers, and journalists. They ranked more than 6,500 think tanks, using a set of 18 criteria developed by the Think Tanks And Civil Societies Program. We’re all rather pleased. See http://www.gotothinktank.com/2012-global-goto-tank-index-report/ for all the details.
